2015 NFL Draft: Mock 2.0: With Kevin and Matt S

I assisted the help of my brother in law (Kevin) and my roommate (Matt S) to make this next great Mock Draft

1. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
Mr Matt
JAMEIS WINSTON-QB-FSU
6-4/231
NFL Comparison: Byron Leftwich/Ben Roethlisberger
I wouldn't take him #1, but I think he's clearly going number one.

2. TENNESSEE TITANS
Matt S.
MARCUS MARIOTA-QB-OREGION
6-4/222
NFL Comparison: Nick Foles
My comment is: Jake Locker/Zach Mettenberger!!!!!!! In all seriousness he has the smarts to be a franchise QB, Tennessee's residency in the doldrums has rewarded them with the #2 pick and they are happy with Mariota. Tampa made Tennessee's decision happen.

NOTE: All 3 of us feel that the Phillip Rivers trade makes the most sense for Tennessee here.

3. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
Kevin
DANTE FOWLER-EDGE RUSHER/DE-FLORIDA
6-4/261
NFL Comparison: Terrell Suggs/Willie McGinist
The Jags need an edge rusher in the worst way. Best pass rusher in the draft, his sack number weren't big but he lived in the back field in college. On tape he was the most disruptive player in college.

4. OAKLAND RAIDERS
Mr. Matt
LEONARD WILLIAMS-3T/5T/DT/DE-USC
6-5/302
NFL Comparison: Richard Seymour/Gerald McCoy
New coach Jack Del Rio built his teams in Jacksonville around two great defensive tackles in John Henderson and Marcus Stroud. Williams has the versatility to play both DE or DT in any scheme.

5. WASHINGTON REDSKINS
Matt S.
VIC BEASLEY-EDGE/OLB-CLEMSON
6-3/246
NFL Comparison: Von Miller
They need a pass rusher and he's best on the board.

6. NEW YORK JETS
Kevin
SHANE RAY-EDGE/OLB-MISSOURI
6-3/245
NFL Comparison: Bruce Irvin
The Jets need a pass rusher too. Ray is the smart pick here.

7. CHICAGO BEARS
Mr. Matt
AMARI COOPER-WR-BAMA
6-1/211
NFL Comparison: Antonio Brown/Marvin Harrison
Cooper is bigger than Harrsion and Brown, yet his route running and ability to make yards after the catch are similar to both guys. The Bears can give inconsistent QB Jay Cutler another weapon to have on the outside. He already has two big targets in Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett.

8. ATLANTA FALCONS
Matt S.
ALVIN "BUD" DUPREE-EDGE/DE/OLB-KENTUCKY
6-4/269
NFL Comparison: Everson Griffin
The Falcons NEED a pass rusher. It would of been Gregory if not for his failed drug test and lack of weight.

9. NEW YORK GIANTS

Kevin
BRANDON SCHERFF-OT/G-IOWA
6-5/318
NFL Comparison: Bryan Bulaga as an OT/Zack Martin as an OG
C'mon man it just makes too much sense. The Giants have way too many holes on the offensive line for them NOT to take one here.

10. ST. LOUIS RAMS
Mr. Matt
KEVIN WHITE-WR-WEST VIRGINIA
6-3/215
NFL Comparison: slightly smaller Julio Jones/DeAndre Hopkins
This is a dream scenario for St. Louis but it could happen. Last year they lucked out and were able to draft a top 5 talent in Aaron Donald at #13. The pick paid immediate dividends as Donald was the Defensive Rookie of the Year and made the Pro Bowl.

11. MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Matt S.
ANDRUS PEAT-OT/LT-STANFORD
6-7/313
NFL Comparison: Ryan Clady
The Vikings were hoping Scherff would slip but Peat is good here as well. I like that he's fail safe and came from a big school. Low Ceiling but very high floor.

12. CLEVELAND BROWNS

Kevin
DAVANTE PARKER-WR-LOUISVILLE
6-3/209
NFL Comparison: Jordy Nelson
Josh Gordon is suspended for the year and Parker is in the top tier to me. I see a big drop between him and Brashad Perriman.

13. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
Mr. Matt
RANDY GREGORY-EDGE/OLB-NEBRASKA
6-5/235
NFL Comparison: Clay Matthews/Bruce Irvin
With two 1st round picks and five picks in the top 78, the Saints can afford to take a risk here. Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan won't care if Gregory is a choir boy as long as he can get to the QB. They were 25th in sacks last year so upgrading the pass rush is key.

14. MIAMI DOLPHINS
Matt S.
TRAE WAYNES-CB-MICHIGAN ST.
6-0/186
NFL Comparison: Stephon Gilmore
Brent Grimes is a stud, but he'll turn 32 this year. The rest of the CBs on the roster are all unproven guys. The NFL is evolving to where you need more than one corner unless you have Darrelle Revis or Richard Sherman

15. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
Kevin
MARCUS PETERS-CB-WASHINGTON
6-0/197
NFL Comparison: Vontae Davis/Joe Haden
Great cover man but bad tackler. He's my favorite player in the draft, despite his issues.

16. HOUSTON TEXANS
Mr. Matt
LANDON COLLINS-SS-BAMA
6-0/228
NFL Comparison: Kam Chancellor
They will likely go best player available regardless of position. Collins would be a good fit in Romeo Crennel's scheme. Crennel runs a 3-4 cover 1 scheme with a roaming safety. Collins would fit as the perfect in the box safety, He has the size to be great player in run support and to cover tight ends.

17. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS
Matt S.
MELVIN GORDON-RB-WISCONSIN
6-1/215
NFL Comparison: Matt Forte
The Chargers are clearly moving on from Phillip Rivers. They need a guy that can tote the rock non stop. I really don't think that Gurley has more upside.

18. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Mr. Matt
LA'EL COLLINS-OT/G-LSU
6-4/305
NFL Comparison: Justin Pugh as an OT/Marshall Yanda as an OG
The Chiefs had major problems on the offensive line last year. Collins would give them a guy that can come in and compete for the RT or RG starting job and eventually he may overtake former #1 overall pick Eric Fisher at LT.

19. CLEVELAND BROWNS
Kevin
BRYCE PETTY-QB-BAYLOR
6-4/230
NFL Comparison: poor man's Carson Palmer or Eli Manning
They have one QB in rehab and named Josh McCown. #19 for Petty is better value than Manziel at #22 last year. Petty has all the arm talent you look for. I like pairing him with Devante Parker.

20. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Matt S.
NELSON AGHOLOR-WR-USC
6-0/198
NFL Comparison: Jeremy Maclin
My target is a WR here and Agholor is the consensus pick. No matter who they pick will hurt my New York Giants' secondary.

21 CINCINNATI BENGALS
Kevin
ARIK ARMSTEAD-OREGON
6-7/292
NFL Comparison: Calais Campbell
I'll take the DE over DT for the Bengals. I love Geno Atkins on the interior, I like Armstead on the edge.

22. PITTSBURGH STEELERS
Mr. Matt
KEVIN JOHNSON-CB-WAKE FOREST
6-0/188
NFL Comparison: Sam Shields
The Steelers need a corner in the worst way, Johnson is the perfect fit here.

23. DETROIT LIONS
Matt S.
DANNY SHELTON-DT/NT-WASHINGTON
6-2/339
NFL Comparison: BJ Raji
Todd Gurley is the sexy pick but Shelton is too good to pass up here. They go with the smart pick over the sexy pick. You just can't ignore the void left by Suh's departure. It's fate that he falls into the Lions lap here.

24. ARIZONA CARDINALS
Kevin
ERIC KENDRICKS-WLB/ILB-UCLA
6-0/232
NFL Comparison: Lavonte David
The Cards address their biggest need with the best LB on the board

25. CAROLINA PANTHERS
Mr. Matt
DJ Humphries-OT/LT-FLORIDA
6-5/307
NFL Comparison: D'Brickashaw Ferguson
The Panthers need an OT to protect Cam at all costs. DJ is a better LT than Ereck Flowers.

26. BALTIMORE RAVENS
Matt S.
DORIAL GREEN BECKHAM-OKLAHOMA
6-5/237
NFL Comparison: Plaxico Buress
They lost TSmitty, DGB is a risk but he would be a perfect replacement.

27. DALLAS COWBOYS
Kevin
TODD GURLEY-RB-GEORGIA
6-1/222
NFL Comparison: Marshawn Lynch meets Eric Dickerson (Kevin's comparison, he thinks Gurley is a future Hall of Famer)
This is the dream scenario for Dallas, they are sprinting to the podium. Gurley's only risk is injury, he's a top 10 talent.

28. DENVER BRONCOS
Mr. Matt
ERECK FLOWERS-OT/RT-MIAMI
6-6/329
NFL Comparison: Andrew Whitworth
The Broncos get a young guy to keep the old man Peyton Manning upright.

29. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
Matt S.
SHAQ THOMPSON-SS/WLB/RB-WASHINGTON
6-0/232
NFL Comparison: Kam Chancellor/Bernard Pollard
I don't know what position he will play but I know the Colts need play makers on defense especially in the secondary. He can even play some RB, Thompson is an issue, a very good issue to have.

30. GREEN BAY PACKERS
Kevin
JALEN COLLINS-LSU
6-2/203
NFL Comparison: Antonio Cromartie
The Pack could use some DB help and the GM likes long athletic DBs.

31. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
Mr. Matt
MALCOLM BROWN-3T/NT/DT-TEXAS
6-2/319
NFL Comparison: Dan Williams
Just too good to pass up here, a safe pick after taking a risk with Randy Gregory.

32. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Matt S.
EDDIE GOLDMAN-3T/NT/DT-FSU
6-4/336
NFL Comparison: Randy Starks
With the loss of VInce Wilfork, they need a replacement.

Best Still Available:
BRESHAD PERRIMAN-WR-UCF
6-2/217
NFL Comparison: Mike Wallace
ELI HAROLD-EDGE/OLB-VIRGINIA
6-3/247
NFL Comparison: Kamerion Wimbley
JAELEN STRONG-WR-ARIZONA ST.
6-2/217
NFL Comparison: faster Anquan Boldin
CAMERON ERVING-C/G/OT-FSU
6-5/313
NFL Comparison: Eric Wood
