Dybantsa lived up to the hype at BYU where he led the nation in scoring. He can create his own shot at will and can get to the rim at will. He doesn’t waste dribbles and uses his length and frame to create space. He is a lethal mid-range shooter that is very similar to a young Melo, Pierce and McGrady. These elite scorers developed into elite 3-point shooters later in their careers. Therefore, the lack of three-point attempts last season should not be a worry.

Dybantsa’s combination of scoring, athleticism, length and feel for the game make him the best player in the draft. Dybantsa also is an elite athlete who had combine numbers similar to Scottie Barnes, Jimmy Butler, and Iman Shumpert. Scouts were claiming Wilson as the best athlete in the draft then Dybantsa put up better numbers in every category. What is even more impressive is that he doesn’t rely on this athletic ability rather his skill set. This is similar to dare I say it (Michael, Kobe and LeBron).

Washington just gave Trae Young a huge extension. Dybantsa adds the scoring punch in the frontcourt that they lack. They traded for Anthony Davis but he is 33 years old and may not be in the long-term plans. Alex Sarr is the perfect defensive big to play alongside Dybantsa. Tre Johnson is the starting shooting guard that can really shoot. Young wings Will Riley, Kyshawn George and Bilal Coulibaly round out the rotation. This could a be a play-in team next season if Dybantsa meets his potential.

Boozer was the best player in the country and the best one and done player in Duke history. That says a lot when you see the chart below. That list contains four players drafted first, three players drafted second, three players drafted third and two other lottery picks. Irving and Tatum are stars that have won titles with a Hall of Fame trajectory. Zion, BI, Paolo and Luol Deng have made All Star games. Only Bagley and Okafor were busts. Flagg and Boozer have a chance to be the best out of all of them

Boozer has an exceptional skill set for the modern-day NBA. He can do a bit of everything as a big man and is very efficient. He erased doubts about his athletic ability at the combine where his athletic measurements were similar to Amar'e Stoudemire and Blake Griffin. His skill set, size and IQ are very similar to prime Kevin Love. The best comparison to me is a less EXPLOSIVE but more FLUID version of Griffin or Stoudemire.

Boozer makes a lot of sense to the Jazz. He is the best player available from a traditional stats and advanced stats stand point earning a perfect offensive score via CraftedNBA. Boozer has star power and gives them the scoring and rebounding they need. He is a perfect fit next to Jaren Jackson. Also, his dad Carlos Boozer is a Utah Jazz legend that works in their front office. He fits the player profile that GM Danny Ainge wants.

Peterson is an isolation scorer that can also create. Some have compared him to Kobe but Iso-Joe mixed with Beal and Roy is the more realistic comparison. Peterson is an absolute dynamic scorer that makes high percentage shots. He was a creator in high school and should be able to develop that skill set to as he develops.

His shooting splits are similar to Thompson, McCollum and Roy coming out of college. It would benefit him to play next to a good point guard where he can shine in a role a shooter and bucker getter. It worked great for Klay with Steph, Beal with John Wall and McCollum with Lillard. I would love to see him paired with Darius Garland and the Clippers. They would need to trade up two spots to get him.

In this scenario Memphis gets Peterson as part of his a long rebuild. Luckily for him he would have the perfect veteran shooting guard in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to learn from. Cedric Coward and Zach Edey are the young building blocks on the team. The question will be if they trade Ja Morant this offseason. Peterson has the star power to be the new face of the franchise.

Wilson is a great athlete that wants to block every shot and dunk every time he gets the ball. He uses his elite athletic ability as well as any young player. He plays with an attitude and swagger of K-Mart and the versatility of The Matrix. He really has zero bust potential because of his drive and ability to be an elite defender. The shooting woes are a cause for concern which probably limits his upside. Siakam and Johnson are the modern era blueprints as All Star forwards that will never be elite shooters. Both players have steadily improved though in their NBA careers. If Wilson can improve his shot even a small amount, we are looking at a perennial All Star. If not, he will be another Josh Smith or Kenyon Martin. That is a great floor to have.

Bulls President Bryson Graham and the front office are said to rely on the "SLAP" philosophy (Size, Length, Athleticism, Physicality) to build out their core and roster. No player in this draft has a better combination of those things than Wilson. The Bulls are in a long term rebuild and Wilson is the type of player and personality that can be a franchise changer.

His pull up jumper is on the Haliburton and Crawford level and he knows how to use his size to create space. As long as he stays healthy, he will have a very long and productive career. The big question will be if he can be a true point guard. He may be better served as a secondary creator that is an elite scorer.  He would be the perfect long guard to pair with Darius Garland. The Clippers may also be in the market to trade up or trade down.

Statistically he is the best point guard that John Calipari has ever coached. That is saying a lot when one sees the names on this chart. He is the best playmaker and scorer on the list. His shooting splits are very similar to SGA. The six players on this list have combined for 3 MVPs, 2 NBA Championships, 15 All Stars and 2 Rookie of the Year Awards. Acuff has the box office appeal and personality that is perfect the Big Apple. Brooklyn could also trade down from this spot. They recently traded for Julius Randle. Acuff is the point guard they need and would instantly be the best guard on the roster. With a core of Acuff, Randle and Michael Porter Jr the Nets could make the play-in this season.

Lost in the NBA news cycle of Giannis trade rumors, Dusty May to Dallas, Trae Young extension and Julius Randle traded to Brooklyn was that Atlanta kept CJ McCollum for one more season. This makes their decision here all the more interesting as they can take an eventual successor to him in Brayden Burries or Keaton Wagler.

The smartest move would be to trade down with a team like the Thunder or Hornets. If they stay here Mara makes the most sense as a true big man that can serve as a true defensive anchor. Atlanta was 6th in scoring and 18th in points allowed. Onyeka Okongwu is a very serviceable starting center but he is not an elite shot blocker and is an average rebounder at best. Mara may not be a super high minutes guy but he is exactly what Atlanta needs to get to another level.

As far as NBA projections go, his quickness and recognition give him the defensive versatility of Draymond Green and Luol Deng.

The Mavs recently hired his college coach Dusty May as their head coach. The pairing of the two makes sense. This pick makes even more sense when you look at the track record of new Mavs GM Masai Ujiri. Lendeborg fits the mold of the super long versatile forward that he covets.

Burries would be the ideal player for the Bucks rebuild. Bucks coach Taylor Jenkins had his best seasons in Memphis coaching Bane and Brooks where he helped both players turn into good starters. Burries can be an ideal role player to play alongside the Bucks new young core of Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware and Kasparas Jakučionis.

Wagler was one of the best stories in college basketball last season. He was the 150

His combination of composure and smoothness is fun to watch. His shooting splits (44.5%/39.7%/79.6%) are comparable to Reaves, Mayo and Pritchard.

Wagler also has concerns on if he is a primary creator. But luckily, he has the size to play shooting guard. He is not an elite athlete but that should not stop him as his game is more skill based. The Warriors need more young guards that can score and create. Wagler could be an upgrade over Brandin Podziemski and a better future option.

Hometown: Riverdale, IL
Current NBA Comparison: Kevon Looney/Clint Capela
Old School NBA Comparison: PJ Brown
ROLE: Role Playing Versatile Big Man
BEST TOOLS: Versatile Defender/Elite Length/Shooting

Johnson is a winning player that lacks one great skill set but did everything that was asked of him by Dusty May at Michigan. He has elite length and the valuable skill to switch on to smaller players on defense. Johnson is one of those guys that may not get a ton of press, but will play in many NBA playoff games like Looney, Capela and Brown.

The Thunder have the young players and draft picks to pull off a huge trade into the top 3 on draft night. They could package picks #12 and #17 plus any combination of Cason Wallace, Jared McCain and Ajay Mitchell to move up to get Cam Boozer or Darryn Peterson. Boozer would be the perfect physical power forward to play with Chet Holmgren.

If they stay put Johnson would be a very safe and smart pick. They could let Isaiah Hartenstein walk in free agency and have a plug and play replacement in Johnson. No team values length, athletic ability and winning players more than OKC.

ROLE: Starting forward with #3 scoring option upside
BEST TOOLS: Scoring/Rebounding/Length/Upside

Ament was the number four prospect in the 2025 high school class. He was good in his one season at Tennessee. He was not as good as the players ranked just ahead and behind him in Cameron Boozer and Caleb Wilson. He can score, rebound and is also a solid passer. His measurement numbers and skill set are close to McDaniels and Eason. Both guys are very valuable role players.

Ament will be a good late lottery pick but if a team reaches on him in the top 8 range, they are taking a HUGE risk. The Heat are trading this pick to the Bucks via the Giannis trade. Ament has as high an upside as almost any player in this class. Ament's shooting splits are real cause for concern as it shows both inconsistency and bad decision making. If he can clean that up, he has All Star upside.

With all due respect to Dennis Schröder and Franz Wagner, Steinbach is the best prospect to come out of Germany since the great Dirk Nowitzki. He has a versatile skill set with ability to score, rebound and do a bit of everything. He has the potential to be a legitimate double-double guy and All Star.

The Hornets have built through the draft and have a very good core with LaMelo Ball, Kon Knueppel, Brandon Miller and Miles Bridges. They lack a starting big that can score. Steinbach would be the perfect player to draft here an instant upgrade over Moussa Diabate and Ryan Kalkbrenner.

BEST TOOLS: Long Range Shooting/Elite Length/Elite Athletic Ability

Carr was the biggest winner at the combine where he showcased his Zach LaVine/Victor Oladipo level athletic ability. He also measured with a wingspan longer than AJ Dybantsa and Caleb Wilson. He projects as Bridges type 3 and D player with Derrick White and Eddie Jones All Star upside. Like White he basically came out of nowhere to become an all-conference performer.

As illustrated earlier, the Bulls front office are said to rely on the "SLAP" philosophy (Size, Length, Athleticism, Physicality) to build out their core and roster. Carr fits this model perfectly. He could be brought along slowly and given time to add weight to his slight frame.

Lopez has great size to play either forward spot in the NBA. He already has a sturdy ready frame at such a young age. He doesn’t do anything great but he has an advanced skill set. He has the potential to be a high-level role player given his versatility. He can develop into 3rd/4th option on a playoff team. The upside is there, eventually the production should match.

Memphis adds to their frontcourt after getting Peterson at pick #3. Lopez would be another very nice piece in their rebuild. He could be brought along slowly and given time to develop his jump shot. His toughness and versatility will make him a fan favorite in Memphis.

Stirtz has taken a long road to the NBA from Division II Northwest Missouri State to Drake and then to Iowa. He was the MVC Player of the Year at Drake then All Big Ten at Iowa. He is a really good shooter and playmaker with the size to play point guard or off the ball. He is not an elite athlete but he is a good athlete with numbers similar to Immanuel Quickley and Landry Shamet.

The Thunder are obviously title contenders. They will look to draft guys that can help them win right now. Stirtz gets to stay home in the great plains' region. He could get minutes on the Thunder’s second unit right away.

Philon returned to school and doubled his scoring output and more importantly improved as a shooter. He was amazing in the tournament where he almost gave eventual champion Michigan all they can handle with a 35-point performance. His college stats and shooting splits are similar to Jameer Nelson and DJ Augustin. He’s a small guard with a slight frame but he has good length.

Remember that season where LaMelo Ball played over 70 games? Actually, it was LAST season and his 2022 All Star season. The other four seasons he dealt with injuries. Philon would be a great backup to LaMelo and can start if he gets hurt again. The Hornets are a team that is clearly on the rise, but they lack depth.

Anderson had a huge jump in production from his freshman to sophomore season at Texas Tech. He nearly doubled his scoring output and tripled his assist numbers. His shooting splits were elite (47.2%/41.5%/80.5%). He is also very durable as he led the conference in minutes per game and had 14 games where he never came out of the game.

Anderson would be the perfect fit alongside Scottie Barnes, Brandon Ingram, RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley. He would allow them more versatility in the lineup and relive pressure off of Barnes and Ingram as primary facilitators.

Graves is an advanced stats darling, with his defensive versatility profile and ability to hit open threes. If he is drafted in the top 20, he should thank OG Anunony’s performance in the NBA finals. OG has the blueprint on how to use a unique player like Graves. Graves was the 6
th Man of the Year in the WCC at Santa Clara but ironically could be a ten-year starter in the NBA.

Graves goes in the top 20 in my mock as the perfect Spurs player. They value length and versatility. More importantly he is a player that can defend and hit an open shot. The perfect player to play alongside Wemby.

BEST TOOLS: Shooting/Length

Evans was a high recruit that played in the shadow of Cooper Flagg and Kon Knuppel as a Freshman. He returned to school and took a huge leap in production as he doubled his scoring output. He is a shooter that can get hot fast. He really moves well without the basketball and is an elite cutter. His shooting splits are similar to Rip coming out of college.

The Pistons are in a very nice spot to fill their biggest need in the draft which is shooting. They are pretty much guaranteed one of Evans, Stirtz or Meleek Thomas. I have them getting the slender shooter that will remind Pistons fans of Rip Hamilton. Evans knows how to play off the ball and played with great players at Duke. He would be perfect next to superstar Cade Cunningham.

Cenac did not meet the insanely high expectations that came with being the was the number 6 prospect coming out of the 2025. He was the number four option on Houston and proved he could be a very good role player. The good news is that his projection as an athletic big man is pretty clear. Those guys have plenty of value in the league. Thompson was the starter on a championship team and played 13 seasons.

The 76ers are trying to win now while also looking at the long term. Cenac has the talent and versatility to add value for Philly. This pick will almost certainly be a big man as Joel Embiid is always injured and Dominick Barlow should not be a starter on a playoff team.

Thomas formed the best Freshman backcourt in the country with Darius Acuff. His role is very set as an instant offense player that can really shoot the ball and get to the rim. If he improves as a creator, he has the upside to become a starting guard. We have seen the importance of second unit scorers/shooters like Poole and Shamet in winning NBA titles.

The Hawks went with a big earlier and now get a guard that can learn under CJ McCollum for a year before entering the rotation in year two. Thomas would be a very good investment for the Hawks.

Reed is an old school big man that knows how to use his massive frame to his advantage. He was arguably the best player on UConn’s National Title run where he averaged 19.5 PPG and 13.2 RPG in the tournament. He is a pretty easy projection as an Adams or Lopez type of role player. Both guys started over 600 games in the NBA.

Mitchell Robinson’s huge offensive rebound in game 5 clinched the championship for the Knicks. Now he is a free agent and may be too expensive to keep in New York. Reed is the perfect player to replace him. Reed gets to stay in Big East country and could become a fan favorite with his hustle and toughness.

ROLE: Defensive Wing/Second Unit scorer and facilitator
BEST TOOLS: Scoring/Rebounding/Passing/Toughness

Swain has a nice versatile skill set and a good frame for a wing. He can attack the rim as well as any wing forward in this class and knows how to use his size to his advantage. His shooting mechanics are flawed though he was a solid free throw shooter. He may never be a great shooter but as the least can have an impact as a defender.

The LeBron era in LA may be over. The Lakers are clearly building around Luka and need players that help him. Swain is a good fit with his versatility. He can guard wings and smaller four men. The Lakers have many big decisions to make this offseason with LeBron and Austin Reaves both as free agents.

ROLE: Role Playing Backup Forward with starter upside
BEST TOOLS: Rebounding/Power/Versatility

Peat was the third best player behind Jaden Bradley and Brayden Burries on a loaded Arizona team that went to the Final Four. The best part about Peat is that he had some of his best games against the top frontcourts in the country such as Florida, Arkansas and Purdue. He was the physical presence they needed that also brought some scoring punch.

Peat projects as a solid role player like Williams and Sensabaugh and is a very safe pick outside the top 20 because of his versatility. He is also very athletic for a player with his frame. The Nuggets need depth at forward at Aaron Gordon has battled injuries the past two seasons, Cameron Johnson is in the last year of his deal and Payton Waston is a restricted free agent. Peat is also a good fit to play with Nikola Jokic.

27. BOSTON CELTICS

Okorie was not highly rated coming out of high school and played on a team that didn’t even make the tournament. However, he is the best driver in the class and has the speed and change of direction like Tyrese and Kemba. He has very good length and power for a smaller guard. He was the best player on the court in Stanford’s midseason upset of UNC. He is a fun player to watch that could be a steal but will need time to develop.

This would be an amazing homecoming for the New England native from New Hampshire. Okorie was actually verbally committed to play at Harvard before Stanford offered him a scholarship. He would have time to develop behind Derrick White and Payton Pritchard.

ROLE: Role Playing Big Man with All Defensive Potential
BEST TOOLS: Elite Length/Power/Shot Blocking

Quaintance is the mystery man of the draft after sitting out almost all of the season with an injury. He is still very young as a prospect as he played a college season at Arizona St at age 17. He was a lottery lock going into the season but is now on the first-round borderline. He has the defensive skills and length to become an impact player on defense.

The Nets traded big man Nicolas Claxton as part of the deal that landed them Randle. They get a replacement for him that could end up being the steal of the draft if he can fully recover from an ACL, meniscus, and fractured knee. This would be the ideal situation for Quaintance as he could develop slowly.

The best word to describe Karaban is WINNER. He is the all-time winningest player in UConn men's basketball history with a winning percentage of 83.4. He also has the NCAA record for tournament wins with 18 wins. He has been a valuable role player on two National Title teams and last year’s Final Four team. He measured well at the combine with a wingspan that will allow him to play both forward spots at the next level.

The Cavs need depth at forward with Dean Wade hitting free agency and Max Strus on an expiring contract. Karaban is ready to contribute to a playoff team in year one. This is a perfect pairing of need, fit and value here.

Kayil is a big playmaking guard that surprised many by staying in the draft over playing at Gonzaga. Many speculate he has a promise from a team in the first round. Dallas makes the most sense as he would be a great next to Cooper Flaggg. Kayil won the German League’s Under-22 Player of the Year. He has a nice skill set and projects as good defender at the next level.

However, he had awful shooting splits last season (38.1%/29.8%/77.2%). We have seen this scouting report many times of big guards that can create and defend but can’t shoot to save their lives. The NBA comparisons tell the story. All of those players were drafted much higher than Kayil will be selected. If he can develop a shot, he could have the upside of a starter.

BEST TOOLS: Toughness/Defense/Shooting/IQ

Bradley was the Big 12 Player of the Year that improved as a playmaker in his career at Arizona. If there is a player in this draft that can go from a late second or undrafted player to NBA starter it is Bradley. He does all of the little things and his feel for the game and the moment is what made him special at Arizona.

Ryan Conwell-SG-Louisville
6'4"/214/6'7''
18.8 PTS       4.8 REB         2.7 AST
Sr./22.0
Hometown: Indianapolis
Current NBA Comp: Brandin Podziemski/Kevin Porter Jr.
Old School NBA Comp: Randy Foye
ROLE: Second Unit Shooting Guard
BEST TOOLS: Shooting/Power/Length/Toughness

Conwell is a strong lefty that knows how to use his size to get to the rim. It may be concerning that he played at four different schools in four years (South Florida, Indiana State, Xavier, Louisville) but he was productive at the last three stops and has always been a good shooter. He may be on the shorter side for a two guard but he has good length and power.

Braden Smith-PG-Purdue
5'11''/186/6'3.25''
14.3 PTS       3.5 REB         8.8 AST
Sr./22.9
Hometown: Westfield, IN
Current NBA Comp: TJ McConnell/Jose Alvarado
Old School NBA Comp: Ish Smith
ROLE: Second Unit Point Guar
BEST TOOLS: Elite Playmaking/Defense/Leadership/Toughness

Smith became the all-time leader in NCAA assists surpassing a 33-year record held by Bobby Hurley. Smith has the length and athletic ability to be a very good defender on a second unit like McConnell and Alvarado. His intangibles will get him on a roster, but he will need to show he can be a true second unit point guard to stick in the league.
