Dybantsa lived up to
the hype at BYU where he led the nation in scoring. He can create his own shot
at will and can get to the rim at will. He doesn’t waste dribbles and uses his length
and frame to create space. He is a lethal mid-range shooter that is very similar
to a young Melo, Pierce and McGrady. These elite scorers developed into elite 3-point
shooters later in their careers. Therefore, the lack of three-point attempts last
season should not be a worry.

Dybantsa’s combination
of scoring, athleticism, length and feel for the game make him the best player
in the draft. Dybantsa also is an elite athlete who had combine numbers similar
to Scottie Barnes, Jimmy Butler, and Iman Shumpert. Scouts were claiming Wilson
as the best athlete in the draft then Dybantsa put up better numbers in every
category. What is even more impressive is that he doesn’t rely on this athletic
ability rather his skill set. This is similar to dare I say it (Michael, Kobe
and LeBron).

Washington just gave
Trae Young a huge extension. Dybantsa adds the scoring punch in the frontcourt
that they lack. They traded for Anthony Davis but he is 33 years old and may
not be in the long-term plans. Alex Sarr is the perfect defensive big to play alongside
Dybantsa. Tre Johnson is the starting shooting guard that can really shoot.
Young wings Will Riley, Kyshawn George and Bilal Coulibaly round out the rotation.
This could a be a play-in team next season if Dybantsa meets his potential.

Boozer was the best
player in the country and the best one and done player in Duke history. That
says a lot when you see the chart below. That list contains four players
drafted first, three players drafted second, three players drafted third and
two other lottery picks. Irving and Tatum are stars that have won titles with a
Hall of Fame trajectory. Zion, BI, Paolo and Luol Deng have made All Star games.
Only Bagley and Okafor were busts. Flagg and Boozer have a chance to be the best
out of all of them

Boozer has an
exceptional skill set for the modern-day NBA. He can do a bit of everything as
a big man and is very efficient. He erased doubts about his athletic ability at
the combine where his athletic measurements were similar to Amar'e Stoudemire
and Blake Griffin. His skill set, size and IQ are very similar to prime Kevin
Love. The best comparison to me is a less EXPLOSIVE but more FLUID version of Griffin
or Stoudemire.

Boozer makes a lot of sense
to the Jazz. He is the best player available from a traditional stats and
advanced stats stand point earning a perfect offensive score via CraftedNBA. Boozer has star power and gives them the
scoring and rebounding they need. He is a perfect fit next to Jaren Jackson.
Also, his dad Carlos Boozer is a Utah Jazz legend that works in their front
office. He fits the player profile that GM Danny Ainge wants.

His shooting splits
are similar to Thompson, McCollum and Roy coming out of college. It would
benefit him to play next to a good point guard where he can shine in a role a
shooter and bucker getter. It worked great for Klay with Steph, Beal with John
Wall and McCollum with Lillard. I would love to see him paired with Darius
Garland and the Clippers. They would need to trade up two spots to get him.

In this scenario Memphis
gets Peterson as part of his a long rebuild. Luckily for him he would have the perfect
veteran shooting guard in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to learn from. Cedric Coward
and Zach Edey are the young building blocks on the team. The question will be if
they trade Ja Morant this offseason. Peterson has the star power to be the new
face of the franchise.

The shooting woes are
a cause for concern which probably limits his upside. Siakam and Johnson are
the modern era blueprints as All Star forwards that will never be elite shooters.
Both players have steadily improved though in their NBA careers. If Wilson can
improve his shot even a small amount, we are looking at a perennial All Star.
If not, he will be another Josh Smith or Kenyon Martin. That is a great floor
to have.

Bulls President Bryson
Graham and the front office are said to rely on the "SLAP" philosophy
(Size, Length, Athleticism, Physicality) to build out their core and roster. No
player in this draft has a better combination of those things than Wilson. The Bulls
are in a long term rebuild and Wilson is the type of player and personality
that can be a franchise changer.

His pull up jumper is on the Haliburton and

Lost in the NBA news cycle of Giannis trade rumors, Dusty May to Dallas, Trae
Young extension and Julius Randle traded to Brooklyn was that Atlanta kept CJ
McCollum for one more season. This makes their decision here all the more
interesting as they can take an eventual successor to him in Brayden Burries or
Keaton Wagler.
The
smartest move would be to trade down with a team like the Thunder or Hornets.
If they stay here Mara makes the most sense as a true big man that can serve as
a true defensive anchor. Atlanta was 6th in scoring and 18th
in points allowed. Onyeka Okongwu is a very serviceable starting center but he
is not an elite shot blocker and is an average rebounder at best. Mara may not
be a super high minutes guy but he is exactly what Atlanta needs to get to
another level.

was simply the best player on the best team in the country. He was the Big Ten
Player of the Year after transferring from UAB. He showed his elite length at
the combine and showed his quickness in the lane agility drill where he was
quicker than many guards. As far as NBA projections
go, his quickness and recognition give him the defensive versatility of
Draymond Green and Luol Deng.
The
Mavs recently hired his college coach Dusty May as their head coach. The pairing
of the two makes sense. This pick makes even more sense when you look at the
track record of new Mavs GM Masai Ujiri. Lendeborg fits the mold of the super
long versatile forward that he covets.

Current NBA Comparison: Jarace Walker
Old School NBA Comparison: Gorgui Dieng
ROLE: Backup Power Forward
BEST TOOLS: Elite Athlete/Elite Length/Rebounding
Brazile proved he was the most athletic big man in the class with his showing
at the combine. He will have a chance to make an impact with his ability as a
rebounder and defender.

BEST TOOLS: Long Range Shooting/Defense/Hustle
The European is sort of a mystery sleeper in
this draft. The slender guard can really shoot and has the potential to be a
secondary creator as well. Could he sneak into the first round?

Hometown: Riverton, UT
Current NBA Comparison: Josh Hart/Grayson Allen
Old School NBA Comparison: Wesley Mathews
ROLE: Dirty Work Role Playing Wing
BEST TOOLS: Long Range Shooting/Defense/Hustle
Saunders is shooter that can also rebound and
do the dirty work on defense. Every contender needs a guy like this. We just
saw the importance of guys like Hart had to winning a title. His ACL injury
along with his age may see him drop to the second round or possibly be
undrafted. But guys like this usually carve out a role in the NBA.

Old School NBA Comparison: Luke Babbit
ROLE: Specialty Sharpshooting Second Unit Forward
BEST TOOLS: Shooting/Defense/Hustle
Bilodeau was the best shooter in the nation as
evidenced by his near 50/40/90 shooting split season. He measured well at the
combine with the necessary length and weight to play power forward for a second
unit.

Current NBA Comp: Fred VanVleet/Davion Mitchell
Old School NBA Comp: Aaron Brooks/Cory Joseph
ROLE: Defensive Combo Guard
BEST TOOLS: Toughness/Defense/Shooting/IQ
Bradley was the Big 12 Player of the Year that
improved as a playmaker in his career at Arizona. If there is a player in this
draft that can go from a late second or undrafted player to NBA starter it is
Bradley. He does all of the little things and his feel for the game and the
moment is what made him special at Arizona.

Hometown: Indianapolis
Current NBA Comp: Brandin Podziemski/Kevin Porter Jr.
Old School NBA Comp: Randy Foye
ROLE: Second Unit Shooting Guard
BEST TOOLS: Shooting/Power/Length/Toughness
Conwell is a strong lefty that knows how to
use his size to get to the rim. It may be concerning that he played at four
different schools in four years (South Florida, Indiana State, Xavier,
Louisville) but he was productive at the last three stops and has always been a
good shooter. He may be on the shorter side for a two guard but he has good
length and power.

Hometown: Westfield, IN
Current NBA Comp: TJ McConnell/Jose Alvarado
Old School NBA Comp: Ish Smith
ROLE: Second Unit Point Guar
BEST TOOLS: Elite Playmaking/Defense/Leadership/Toughness
Smith became the all-time leader in NCAA
assists surpassing a 33-year record held by Bobby Hurley. Smith has the length
and athletic ability to be a very good defender on a second unit like McConnell
and Alvarado. His intangibles will get him on a roster, but he will need to
show he can be a true second unit point guard to stick in the league.
