5 Trades That Make At Least Some Sense

Going off of my "On the block: The 10 players most likely to be traded" I decided to take it to the next step and try some trades via the ESPN NBA Trade Machine. So based on some of the players I had listed I have my 5 trades that make at least some sense. Since they all make since, none of them will happen. At least not exactly the same way. NOTE: I added the draft say trades and all contract information is based on the 2009-2010 season. TRADE #1 http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=267ztkz There have been some rumors that the TWolves are interested in Anthony Randolph. Some rumors say could trade one of their 3 1st round picks and someone else to get him. I think if their is a trade both teams might just go all out and make it a blockbuster deal, here's how it would benefit both teams. MIN: Monta Ellis and Anthony Randolph They get a great scorer in Ellis and the length they want at the small forward spot with Randolph. They also keep their pick and...

On The Block: The 10 Players Most Likely To Be Traded

The draft is coming. Free Agency is coming. With the off-season and the draft looming, major trades of key players are eminent. Last year some of the key players that were traded around draft time included Shaq (PHO to CLV), Vince Carter (NJ to ORL), and Richard Jefferson (MIL to SA). So here are my top 10 guys that might get shipped this off-season: 1. Michael Beasley -MIA-SF/PF-6-10/235-21 years old Contract: 2 years left-11.22m (rookie contract) Possible destinations: MIN, WAS, Utah , SAC Beasley has a ton of talent and is very young so he should have some good market value. However it has become clear that in two years in Miami he hasn't lived up to expectations and isn't the ideal compliment to DWade. The Heat are trying to win right now and need some veterans to compliment Wade. If they were to get rid of Beasley's 4.96 million owed to him next year they would have room to sign two impact free agents this off-season. 2. Anthony Randolph -GS-SF-6-10/210-20 y...

The Importance of Ray Ray

Image
In Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night it was abundantly clear that one team was ready to play and one team was not. The Los Angeles Lakers were ready and proceeded to crush the Boston Celtics 102-89. The 13-point win is misleading as the Celtics never really had a chance after the Lakers went on a 13-6 run to end the first half. Once the Lakers had a comfortable lead, they cruised the rest of the way to a relatively easy win. During that run in the first half, Boston's Ray Allen picked up his third personal foul. Ray Allen ended with five personal fouls on the night. The foul trouble limited him to only 27 minutes and he was never able to get going. Without Allen, the Celtics were unable to stretch the Laker's defense and L.A. just collapsed on Kevin Garnett inside and limited Rajon Rondo's driving ability. If Boston is going to have any chance of tying the series tonight they need Allen to get going early. He is one of the best shooters in NBA history and ...

Why Would Amar'e Leave?

Image
I'm putting myself in the mind of Amar'e Stoudemire. I'm one of the best big men in the NBA. I'm still only 27 years old. I am entering my prime and I play on a team that is currently 2 wins away from a trip to the NBA Finals. Currently, I am preparing to for Game 5 tonight in L.A. against the defending champion Lakers. Life is good! I also have an early termination option in my contract that could make me an unrestricted free agent this summer. I would be one of the most sought after free agents this summer along with LeBron, DWade, Chris Bosh and Dirk. I have a few options: 1) Become a free agent this summer, 2) Play out my final season and earn 17.6 million, 3) Sign an extension with the Suns this summer. If I leave Phoenix, where would I go? New York has my old coach and runs an uptempo offensive system that I love. Miami is in my home state of Florida and has a star with DWade. Chicago and New Jersey have cap space but I don't know if they would ...

Mock Draft 1.0-Two days after the lottery

Image
1. WAS-John Wall-PG-Kentucky-Fr. Easy decision. Wall is already the new face of the Wizards franchise even before being drafted. He could become one of the best point guards in the NBA within a few years. If Gilbert Arenas ever comes back, he’ll be able to move to his natural position of shooting guard. Wall and Arenas could be a great backcourt duo. 2. PHL-Evan Turner-G/F-Ohio St.-Jr. The 76ers have many options here. If they keep the pick, Turner is the no brainer choice. He would fit perfect with Jrue Holiday and Andre Igoudala. The 76ers could then try to trade Willie Green or Louis Williams along with Elton Brand to unload his salary. Many teams in the lottery could move up to take Turner. The TWolves (#4, #16, #23) and Grizzlies (#12, #25, #28) have multiple picks and could use an upgrade on the wing. If the Jazz (#9) were to trade up and get Turner they would instantly become a title contender. 3. NJ-Derrick Favo...
