2017 NFL Draft: Mock Draft 1.0 Mid-season mock

Talent over need in the first round for the top teams  First Round 1. CLEVELAND BROWNS (0-10) JONATHAN ALLEN-DE/5T/DT/EDGE-BAMA 6-3/294 NFL Comparison: Michael Bennett/Fletcher Cox The Browns NEED a QB, but with two 1st round picks and not much separating the three top signal callers the Browns can afford to take a QB with their second 1st round pick. The NFL now values guys that can rush the passer from the inside as much as edge rushers. Guys like JJ Watt, Aaron Donald, Fletcher Cox and 2016 Rookie of the Year candidate Joey Bosa have paved the way for interior pass rushers. Allen is so valuable because you can literally line him up anywhere on the defensive line and he will have an impact. He led the SEC in sacks last year with 12 and this year already has 7.5 despite facing double teams on nearly every play. The Browns need an impact guy on the defensive line. Allen has the chance to change an entire defense with his special skill set. 2. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
