NBA DRAFT 2014: MOCK DRAFT

Thank you to Walter Football for adding my mock to their great NBA Mock Draft Database.   http://walterfootball.com/nbadraftdata.php FIRST  ROUND 1. CLEVELAND CAVALIERS JABARI PARKER-SF-DUKE   6-8/235  NBA COMPARISON: PAUL PIERCE/GRANT HILL  NEEDS: Everything but PG The Cavs have been victims of the CANADIAN OVERHYPE train one to many times. Fool me Once: Tristan Thompson (#4 pick in 2011) has been a very average player Fool me Twice: Anthony Bennett (#1 pick last year) was a total bust as a rookie, but the jury is still out on him. I don't think they are getting fooled again with Andrew Wiggins. Parker should be the pick here. The Cavs recently hired new coach David Blatt. He comes from an international background and will find ways to utilize Jabari Parker as both a stretch four and as a SF. He should have an instant impact as a scorer and should form a great duo with Kyrie Irving. 2. MILWAUKEE BUCKS ANDREW WIGGINS-SF-KANSAS   6-8/200 NBA COMPARISON: PAUL GEORG

NBA DRAFT 2014: Top 30 Prospects

1. JABARI PARKER-SF- DUKE 6-8/235  NBA COMPARISON: PAUL PIERCE/GRANT HILL  ROLE: Possible superstar that can play both forward positions. A likely 25ppg guy eventually. 2. ANDREW WIGGINS-SF- KANSAS 6-8/200 NBA COMPARISON: PAUL GEORGE/GERALD GREEN ROLE: Good player right now with star potential, has been overhyped as the next LeBron. In reality, a GM will be happy if he becomes another Paul George. He may end up being just another freak athlete like Gerald Green. 3. MARCUS SMART-CG/PG- OK ST.   6-3/227  NBA COMPARISON: JAMES HARDEN/bigger KYLE LOWRY  ROLE: Stud combo guard that has the versatility and skill to play the point and the size to play the two in the league as well. 4. AARON GORDON-CF/PF- ZONA  6-9/220 NBA COMPARISON: SHAWN MARION/KAWHI LEONARD  ROLE:  Great role player that will be best as a 3rd option on a winning team. This guy does all the little things well. A very similar prospect to Kawhi coming out of college. 5. DANTE EXUM -PG-AUSTRALIA 6-6/196 N

NFL DRAFT 2014: DAY 2 MOCK

Here is my post 1st round mock.  I have the needs that were filled in the 1st round highlighted. SECOND ROUND 33. HOUSTON TEXANS-RA'SHADE HAGEMAN-DE/DT-MINNESOTA The Texans wait till the 3rd to get their QB of the future. Instead they take the best player on the board and get a guy that can play any position on the D-Line in a 3-4 NEEDS: QB, PR , ILB, RT 34. WASHINGTON REDSKIN S-MORGAN MOSES-OT-VIRGINIA  The Redskins need to protect RG IIII. Moses is a NFL ready OT that can start day one at RT.  Picks in first 3 rounds:  34, 66 NEEDS:  SS, RT/G, CB, ILB, #3 PR  OFFENSIVE SCHEME: RUN/ZONE BLOCKING DEFENSIVE SCHEME: REACTIVE 3-4 PRESS MAN 35. CLEVELAND BROWNS-MARQISE LEE-WR-USC The Browns get a great WR to compliment a new QB. Lee is an absolute STEAL here NEEDS: QB, #2 CB , #2 WR, ILB, Speed RB 36. OAKLAND RAIDERS-DEREK CARR-QB-FRESNO ST.  The Raiders get the QB they wanted all along.  NEEDS: QB, LT, DT, #1 WR, FS, LG, PR 37. ATLANTA FALCONS-DEMARCUS LAWRENCE-PR/OL

NFL DRAFT 2014: MY FINAL MOCK!!!!!!!

FIRST ROUND 1. HOUSTON TEXANS-JADEVEON CLOWNEY-PR/DE/OLB-SOUTH CAROLINA   The Texans will likely draft the Clowney. This is the smart move as Clowney and JJ Watt can make a pass rush duo as good as any in the NFL. Clowney has drawn comparisons to former #1 Texans pick Mario Williams. I think he has the chance to be another Robert Quinn.   Picks in first 3 rounds:  1, 33.65 NEEDS: QB, PR, ILB, RT OFFENSIVE SCHEME: BALANCED/ZONE BLOCKING SCHEME DEFENSIVE SCHEME: 3-4 ZONE  2. ST. LOUIS RAMS-JAKE MATTHEWS-OT-TEXAS A&M I don't want to go chalk. Many mocks have the Rams taking OT Greg Robinson out of Auburn. The interesting thing is that the Rams don't need a LT they need a RT. Jake Long is a solid LT. I think the Rams will go with the more NFL ready prospect in Matthews. Head coach Jeff Fisher coached Jake's father, Hall of Fame guard Bruce Matthews in Tennessee. Picks in first 3 rounds:  2, 13, 44, 75 NEEDS: #1 WR, FS, RT, LCB OFFENSIVE SCHEME: POWER RUN/MAN BLOC
