2013 NBA DRAFT: MY FINAL MOCK DRAFT

Image
DRAFT DAY IS HERE!!!!!!!! Thank you to Walter Football for adding my mock to their great NBA Mock Draft Database.   http://walterfootball.com/nbadraftdata.php 1. CLEVELAND CAVALIERS-ALEX LEN-C-MARYLAND  7-2/255 NBA COMPARISON: RICK SMITS  In a division where you have the great frontcourts of Indiana (Roy Hibbert & David West), Chicago (Joakim Noah, Carlos Boozer and Taj Gibson) and even the emerging Pistons (Greg Monroe & Andre Drummond), Tristan Thompson and Tyler Zeller just won't cut it.  I am buying the hype that the Cavs will draft Len #1.  It makes a lot more sense then drafting 206 pound Nerlens Noel.  Len is a work in progress but he's big and tough enough to survive in that division. The Cavs can get a solid wing player at #19, as plenty will be available. When Len and Noel went head to UK barley beat Maryland by 3. Look at their stat line: Len: 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks in 32 minutes Noel: 4 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks and 2 steals i

It is never too early to look at the loaded 2014 NBA draft. This draft is based upon my Summer of 2013 Free Agency Predictions: Chris Paul-PG-LAC-Stays with LAC, thus making them my #2 in the West and #5 best record Dwight Howard-C-LAL-signs with HOU, making them the #3 in the West and #6 best record Josh Smith-PF-ATL-signs with DAL, DAL becomes #8 seed in the West David West-PF-IND-stays with IND, making them #3 seed in East Andre Iguodala-G/F-DEN-stay with DEN, however the Nuggets miss the playoffs without the leadership of coach of the Year George Karl Al Jefferson-C-Utah-signs with PHL, making them #7 seed in a weak East. Nikola Pekovic-C-MIN-\stays with MIN, TWolves get healthy seasons from Love and Rubio and make the playoffs as the #7 seed. Monta Ellis-SG-MIL-also signs with DAL Andrew Bynum-C-PHL-signs with ATL, allowing Horford to play the 4 Jeff Teague-PG-ATL-stays with ATL, Bynum, Horford and Teague are good enough to keep the Hawks as the #6 seed in the East

At only 206 pounds, Noel needs to bulk up.  At the very most he may be

(5)THE CONTENDERS (pretty self explanatory): MIA, SA, OKC, CHI (with a healthy Derrick Rose) and IND (5) THE GOOD BUT NOT GREAT PERENNIAL PLAYOFF TEAMS (good teams with veteran stars/core):  MEM, LAC (if CP3 leaves then they will be a transition team), DEN, NY, BRK (5) THE  UP AND COMERS (young teams with young cores led by a star 27 or under, they should become contenders or perennial playoff teams soon): GS, HOU, POR, MIN, TOR (7) TRANSITIONING TEAMS (these teams have MAJOR decisions this summer on whether to rebuild or try to make another playoff run with a veteran team, all of these teams best or second best player is a free agent this summer):  ATL, LAL, BOS, UTAH, MIL, DAL, PHL (8) REBUILDING (self explanatory, all these teams have top 8 picks and have young cores, some like CLV, WAS and DET  have a stud to build around,
